What I Wore This Weekend
in Northern Michigan
Northern Michigan (northern part of the lower peninsula to be exact) has this incredible energy that's hard to put into words but so easy to feel once you're there. If you've been, you get it. If not, you really should plan a trip.
Growing up here, we spent most summer weekends going "up north." Similarly, how people in NYC head "out east" or "upstate."
When I first moved to New York City, I was shocked (and slightly offended) at how many people turned their noses up at Michigan without ever having visited. Especially having never visited “up north” They had no idea how gorgeous and magical it is. From the stunning beaches along the Great Lakes to the quaint small towns full of charm, Northern Michigan is a perfect environment for rest and restore. Its natural beauty and friendly vibe make it a truly special place. So, if you're looking for some adventure, relaxation, or just a change of scenery, Northern Michigan is definitely worth checking out.
There are SO many places to go, Glen Arbor has my heart, as does Bay Harbor since Clark and I got married there (almost 7 years ago) at the Bay Harbor Yacht Club.
This week we were visiting with family on Lake Charlevoix. It was filled with perfect weather + amazing sunsets + yummy fresh food + and great company.
Here is what I wore….
Beach day: Hunza G bathing suit, J Crew Linen Shorts, Jenni Kayne Raffia Bag and Anine Bing Sunnies (the sunnies and the bag I’ve had for 3 years, when you buy basics you love and that aren’t too trendy, you wear them year after year. No need to panic shop for a completely new summer wardrobe)
Family BBQ: Zara linen top, (wearing a small, if I ordered again, would get a medium) Agolde Long Parker Shorts, Sezane Justine Raffia Bag, Birkenstocks (wearing siena style, but are sold out everywhere so linking similar!)
Morning Movement: Old Abercrombie Athletic Tank (linked similar), Aritzia Biker Shorts, Daily Drills Terry Cloth Sweatshirt, New Balance Sneakers, and Alo Socks.
Boat Day: Hunza G One Piece, Sakara Beach Towel, same Anine Bing Sunnies
Another Family BBQ: Grlfrnd Tank, Madewell Shorts, Sezane Max Shirt, Johann Wolf Sunnies (paired with Birkenstocks and sezane Justine bag)
